Day 64

We are stalled in North Pole Alaska. Could be worse. We get to see Santa everyday, (because we are committed here long enough to make some ebay orders)

We are parked in a park pretty close to the end of the active runway on Eielson AFB in North pole Alaska I have a little dipole up and get to listen to tower traffic and Fairbanks international traffic. No ADSB yet because it has not been a priority.

It is not all about my HAM hobby but somehow it all relates. I have been working on other projects. The house we moved out of was completely voice controlled through Alexa and other HA bridges. That is easy because they make very good plug in interfaces for smart homes (110V AC.) but nobody (until now) has mass produced switches, sensors, etc. that will work on the 12V system of a motorhome.

Until now…

And that is what I have been working on. I have designed and built a wireless module that can be wired into a 12V system to monitor, and control things.

ESP32 Based Node for 12V Systems

There it is! I have 2 prototypes built and installed in the rig. They feature manual override (just in case) and are small, powered by 12V and otherwise wireless.

“Alexa, turn my desk light on”

Satisfaction….
